KALSOM SUMMER PROGRAMMES
PROJEK KALSOM MOTIVATIONAL CAMP (PKMC)
Projek Kalsom Motivational Camp’ is the first and the most recognisable programme to be organised by The Kalsom Movement. This award-winning programme has a long history since its first establishment in 1994.
Each module of the programme is constructed along a development curve to ensure a progressive learning experience for everyone. The module starts with self-discovery, understanding of new concept, personalising the learned concept and incorporating it into personal development to improve self-belief and self-esteem. The modules are then arranged in a synergistic manner throughout the week to provide consistency and challenges.
The Projek Kalsom Motivational Camp is our annual flagship event organised to instill the Four Pillars of the movement through a 5-day camp for form four students in Malaysia. The modules for the camp are constructed based on The Kalsom Movement’s Four Pillars and objectives.
They are arranged according to our Developmental Curve and are crafted by our highly-selected facilitators’ based on fixed objectives determined by the camp directors. Facilitators are closely guided on producing creative, interactive and impactful modules. When put together in a well-though structure, these modules harmoniously result in student-beneficiaries’ improvement in terms of knowledge, practical skills, motivation and self-esteem.

ENTERPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION CAMP (EIC)
Following the positive feedbacks from the participants and the facilitators in the one-day programme of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Workshop held in 2015 and 2016, the programme will now be extended into a three-day programme for high school students who are members of the selected schools’ Kelab Keushawanan or Kelab Koperasi and are highly interested in entrepreneurship and business.
Entrepreneurship and Innovation Camp is a pioneer project to be conducted in the format of a 3-day camp for secondary school students who are members of the selected schools’ Kelab Keusahawanan or Kelab Koperasi. The modules are tailored to equip the students with basic informations and skills needed for a career in entrepreneurship and Innovation. Pivoting on the 4 Kalsom pillars, the objectives of the camps are to instil the use of English in students’ everyday interactions, to equip entrepreneurial skills in students from an early stage, to expose to the students on how the actual business environment is like which leads them to the correct career pathway, and to enhance their financial literacy in a business context.
CONFIDENCE THROUGH ENGLISH PROGRAMME (CEP)
The Confidence through English Programme is a pioneer project with the idea derived from last edition’s English Enrichment Programme. Since one of our pillars is to increase the proficiency of English language among our beneficiaries, this programme is established to lay the foundation and to encourage the usage of English at early stage of education. 80 beneficiaries with less fortunate background from selected primary schools will be chosen to be facilitated by 30 highly-selected facilitators throughout this one-day programme. We will also encourage them to communicate in English during and after the camp. Therefore this programme will also involve the family members and community of our beneficiaries so they will be acclimated to the ‘English’ environment in their daily lives. The modules are tailored to accommodate all levels of english proficiency and some are also designed to enhance the mastery of the language among our beneficiaries.
COMMONWEALTH CULTURAL PROGRAMME (CCP)
The program will be conducted in two parts. The first part will involve the international facilitators participating in various community service activities in selected states in Malaysia. The second part will see their involvement in the Projek Kalsom Motivational Camp and Confidence through English Camp.
The outline of the CCP program is to be broken down into three components (or themes), which are the Past, Present and Future. The participants will be introduced to the “Past of Malaysia” through a series of visits to famous historical monuments/museums in the country. The “Present Malaysia” is carried through activities such as feeding the homeless and zoo volunteering. Lastly, the facilitators will experience the acts of volunteering around Malaysia in making sure there is a “Better Future” for the country.
