The crates in this picture symbolise opportunities or capabilities, whereas the wall symbolises a boundary – an obstacle that students need to overcome. The twisted path in the background shows different routes, the complex ways to reach the final destination. In the beginning, the 3 students are at different positions, maybe at ‘equality’, but not ‘equity’. And in order to achieve the state of ‘equity’, there are many ways to it. Everyone can play a role, creating stories with different endings. Lifting another person on one’s shoulders, sharing one’s crates, and even changing the whole wall into a see-through fence.
All of them are happy endings that we need to strive towards. Many people’s happy endings depend on us.
